We are looking to see if the bribery risks in your company have been identified. We want to ensure that you have recognised the gross risk of bribery and implemented controls to reduce that risk to a net level that aligns with your risk appetite. We want to see that you have buy-in from senior levels of the company and that you have a monitoring and measuring system in place to test your controls. Additionally, we want to see an improvement system and how you address allegations of bribery and conduct investigations.

When reviewing a whistleblowing system, we want to see more than just a 'hotline' or an 'email address' that allows people to report issues. The grant of a Speeki Sustainability Score™ in this area will be predicated on having a comprehensive whistleblowing system, not just a policy and a basic reporting channel. We seek a mechanism where employees and others feel comfortable, encouraged, and protected when making reports through multiple channels. Additionally, we will want to see a detailed structure outlining how you manage incidents, following established triage and investigative protocols.

To achieve a Speeki Sustainability Score™, you will need to demonstrate that you have a comprehensive system in place to manage diversity, equity, and inclusion. We expect to see the systems you have established around each of these areas and evidence that you have top management support for these initiatives. Additionally, we will need to see documentation of your activities, focus, current objectives, and your actions taken to meet those objectives.

This area is fundamentally important to business. To obtain a Speeki Sustainability Score™, you will need to demonstrate a programme that goes well beyond a mere 'policy' and a summary on your website. You must show active involvement in ending human rights abuses and modern-day slavery within your own company and throughout your value chain. This includes the steps you have taken to proactively manage risks and validate compliance.

A Speeki Sustainability Score™ can be awarded for compliance only when you demonstrate that you have a system in place to manage compliance risks. You will need to articulate and prove how you have identified a framework that is applied to compliance across your company and that this framework has been embedded within the organisation. The focus is on ensuring that you have a robust system for compliance, regardless of the underlying topic or area you are seeking to address.

Having an ethical, compliant, and responsible value chain is a key element of this assessment. To obtain a Speeki Sustainability Score™ in this area, you will need to demonstrate more than just a policy and a questionnaire sent out to new suppliers. You must provide evidence of a comprehensive system for managing risks associated with your value chain partners and show how you effectively manage that risk.

A lack of consideration for health and safety can increase absenteeism and negligence claims, negatively impacting workplace productivity and morale. To gain a Speeki Sustainability Score™ in this area, you will need to demonstrate a safety management system for your workplace. We need to see, and you need to prove, that the system is adequate, suitable, and effective for your company. You must show that the system you have designed is functioning, is regularly assessed and reviewed, and that you have an improvement mechanism in place to continually assess and reduce risks.

The protection and access to an individual’s private data are growing in importance as new international laws come into effect. A Speeki Sustainability Score™ will only be granted when we see that you have identified all areas where you manage Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and that you have a system of consents and usage that meets legal obligations. For information security, we expect to see detailed information about the controls you have implemented and evidence that these controls have been regularly tested.
