Speeki empowers Australian businesses to navigate ASRS with confidence
Australia is entering a new era of sustainability regulation with the introduction of the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS). These new standards mark a shift from voluntary initiatives to legally mandated climate-related disclosures for many companies.
Speeki is ready to support Australian businesses in meeting these new requirements—not just to stay compliant, but to lead. Our platform combines powerful sustainability reporting software, experienced consulting services, and structured assurance support to help you deliver high-quality disclosures aligned to ASRS.
With mandatory climate reporting now in effect for reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2025, the time to act is now.

Understanding Australia's Sustainability Reporting Standards
The Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) were introduced in 2024 by the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) under the Treasury Laws Amendment Bill.
These standards bring climate-related financial disclosures into the spotlight. The first two ASRS standards are:
AASB S1 – General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information (voluntary)
AASB S2 – Climate-related Disclosures (mandatory)
Both are built on international frameworks, specifically IFRS S1 and S2, which form the bedrock of ASRS. With strong expertise in IFRS-aligned reporting, Speeki is well positioned to help Australian companies meet these new requirements with confidence.
Mandatory reporting begins for financial years starting on or after 1 January 2025, with large entities reporting first under a phased rollout.
What This Means for Businesses
With ASRS now in place, Australian companies must meet mandatory climate-related disclosure requirements under AASB S2. This shift from voluntary to regulated reporting calls for the right tools, training, and expertise.
Speeki helps you meet these obligations with AI-driven technology and tools including Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon accounting.
Who Needs to Comply?
Large companies that meet set thresholds for revenue, assets, or employee numbers are required to report under AASB S2. Disclosures must be credible, and many will require limited assurance.
Speeki Guardian supports this by verifying your climate data, offering a trusted and technology-driven alternative to the Big 4 for ASRS assurance.
